Bucharest hasn't exactly experienced its tourist boom as yet (wonder why?). Nonetheless, the city has slumberpads in spades from outrageously priced princedoms to budget beds and apartments. Unfortunately, the most-reasonable hotels are located near Gare de Nord - an area of town which, despite its convenience upon arrival, is admittedly seedier than most. The hostel industry is now beginning to bank on Bucharest's burgeoning market with more budget options than ever before, and several agencies have opened up in recent years offering private rooms and apartments in the centre - generally a good value.
