Moonwalking Politician Shoots to Internet Stardom

Romanian politician Edmond Talmacean, based in Bucharest, has made headlines in national media and across the internet through a video which showed him dancing, moon-walking, and doing impersonations of the late dictator Nicolae Ceausescu.

While his cheerful outburst may have earned official disapproval, Talmacean insists he was trying to connect with the younger generation. Romanians seem, at the very least, incredibly amused. And the 40-year-old politician has suddenly seen a surge in popularity on his political blog.

As he told the AP, "I danced, I sang. These are the qualities of the Romanian people."
