Harbours and Cable Cars in Bucherest's Future

The city of Bucharest plans to build a new network of public transportation, not with bus or subway systems as in most cities, but with boats and cable cars. Harbours will be built along connected Bucharest lakes, including six harbours and boats in Herastrau, Floreasca, and Tei lakes.

A cable car system will also be built and will connect the Fundeni area with Herastrau park. Another cable car line has also been in the works since September, and will connect Herastrau park with the Pantelimon area. The cable cars are expected to be capable of carrying 3000 people per hour.

The systems are expected to be used both by tourists and by locals looking to skip traffic.
