Spit flies as fans get to tennis player

Tennis player Victor Hanescu spits on crowd and gets fined £10000. “I am human and I made a mistake” he says about the incident.

Ok so maybe he wasn’t aiming at his fans, just the people who verbally abused him for the duration of the match, nonetheless, innocent people got sprayed. Tournament referee, Andrew Jarrett, stated that Hanescue would be docked £5000 for “unsportsmanlike conduct” and £5000 for “not using best efforts.” Hanescu blamed his poor performance on a leg injury he acquired around the fourth set.

Hanescu lost control during the fifth set while down 3-0 against Daniel Brand of Germany. According to BBC Sport news, four spectators, males between 29-30, were arrested under the Public Order Act after Hanescu complained to police officers.
