Gara Lipscani

Gara Lipscani (literally 'Lipscani station') is Bucharest's go-to grub spot for simple, good, cheap Romanian food. Very popular with students and street people, Gara Lipscani has a great atmosphere and low-key attitude in a city of places trying too hard to be trendy. Omelettes run 3-5 lei, while meat dishes are 7-10 and there's even an English menu. The Gara gets very busy and with limited seating chances are good that you'll be joined by jovial strangers, if not the one asking them if you can sit down. Two cheap rounds of drinks later you'll be realising that you've already miss your train, but don't want to leave the station... |
